Baby Contract 1 ASHANTI It was on a Wednesday morning and my husband and I were preparing for his trip he was coming back on Friday. I couldn’t say I wasn't going to miss him; I always missed him but he was coming back Friday night so I was a little at ease. I walked out of the bathroom after having put on my make-up and I found him fixing his tie I offered to do it for him and he let me. “You sure I can’t take you with me?” he said pulling me closer by my waist “Sadly no. I’m meeting with my mom this afternoon and then tomorrow there’s my meeting with the chef an-” I didn’t even finish speaking when he cut me off “I know… I was just trying my luck anyway” I turned to him so he could fix my dress zipper and he did. He then turned me around and kissed me with his hand on my lower back making its way to my butt. “Stop it” I removed his hand “I can’t help myself. Do you have to look this good when you meeting up with your mom?” he said kissing my forehead. “When you marry a prince be the daughter of the iconic Lucinda Walsh you have to look good at all times. Photographers are always lurking in every corner” My mother is a well-known retired musician and my dad is a well-known businessman. I have a little brother he’s 22 and he’s internding to become a music producer his name is Austin Walsh and my parents’ names are Lucinda and Alex Walsh mom is 45 and dad is 50 and they have been supportive throughout all my miscarriages. He chuckled “Sometimes I wish we could escape to a place where nobody will find us” he said squeezing me tightly. “We can only keep wishing honey. You Mr do not want to be late so let’s go” I said hitting his nose playfully with my index finger “You always have to ruin the moment” he protested “There was a moment? Really? Where? When?” I said pretending to be searching and he just laughed at me. “I love you today” he said turning to me “I love you tomorrow” I said wrapping my arms around his neck “And I’ll love you forever” he said planted a kiss on my parted lips then we let go of each other and we headed downstairs with our things. Miry our helper well my husband’s keeper when he was a child was already here. She had the keys to our house so hence she was here at 7am. “Good morning Miry” we said in unison “Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Neel” she curtsied at my husband and me “I’ve told you countless times that you don’t have to do that!” I said pouring myself some juice. “Queen’s orders Ma’am” she said apologetically. “One of which you are not working for anymore. Curtsy for her when you see her Miry. And that is an order!” said my husband trying to sound stern and bossy to her. “I will try” she said I knew a lie when I heard one because we’ve had this conversation most of our lives with “How did you sleep?” “We slept great thank you and what about you?” my husband responded for us. I looked at the time then took an apple with a bottle of water together with the rest of my things. “Honey I will see you Friday night. I love you and travel safely ok?” I kissed his cheek and ran out. I was running late for my meeting with the staff at my new restaurant opposite the university. I got there parked my car and went inside after locking my car and taking my things with me. The staff was already waiting for me inside. “Good morning everyone firstly I’d like to apologize for being late. I woke up late. I am Ashanti Neel owner of this place and two other places. ‘Ashanti’s’ and ‘Micah’s’ on the other side of town. I don’t know how to do these things really but I called you here to welcome you and to introduce you guys to your manager Joshua so whatever you need you talk to him and he will pass it on to me. Uhm I won’t always be here but I’m always available on my cell when something goes wrong. I hope and pray that we will have a great relationship Sponsored AD we’ll get to know each other properly as we progress with time. Uhm what am I forgetting?” I said to myself trying to think Someone raised their hand it was a young lady I pointed at her. “Yes please start with your name introduce yourself and then your addition or whatever” “Hi I’m Luna. I just wanted to ask about the menus when are they arriving?” Luna asked and I frowned confused. “Wait. They haven’t arrived yet?” I turned to my manager. “Josh the launch of this restaurant was last week Saturday and it was a success the last thing I need is it failing on its first actual day of business. Where are they?” I was frustrated. “They got delayed at printing they should be here before we open” Josh said calmly. I looked at my wristwatch “We open in 45 minutes Josh call them” He nodded “Yes ma’am.” “What else is not done or is missing?” I asked and everyone looked at each other and shrugged. “Josh please make sure that EVERYTHING is in order. You guys can go thank you for being here and enjoy the rest of your day” I said walking to Josh’s office. My phone rang and it was my brother. Ashanti: “You calling this early… it could only mean you want money.” Austin: “Good morning to you too Ashanti. How are you?” Ashanti: “I’m good little brother and how are you?” Austin: “I’m good. Moving on to the reason I called I need cash.” Ashanti: “Just as I thought. Austin our father owns a dozen companies and our mother is a retired musician… I’m just a chef.” Austin: “Also a princess. Meaning you are richer than they are and besides you know how dad likes giving life lessons and stuff before he coughs up anything money related.” Ashanti: “Maybe if you had studied business management even if it was a 1-year course you guys would be the best of friends.” Austin: “Come on Ashanti not you too.” Ashanti: “How much do you need and what do you need it for?” Austin: “5K my laptop crashed and I need to get it fixed ASAP!” Ashanti: “I suppose you think I have 5000$ lying around somewhere right?” I asked sarcastically. Austin: “I’m hoping you do.” Ashanti: “I just opened up a restaurant Austin I can give you half and you’ll hustle for the rest.” Austin: “What’s the point of marrying a prince if you are not going to have a stash of cash lying around somewhere?” Ashanti: “Should I just forget the 2.5k instead?” Austin: “I’m kidding geez!” Ashanti: “Exactly. Bye Austin.” Austin: “So when can I expect it?” Ashanti: “When a text message from the bank comes on your phone.” Austin: “Sis I need it now!” Ashanti: “If you going to rush me then get it elsewhere brother.” Austin: “Fine. I’m sorry.” Ashanti: “Goodbye little brother.” I dropped his call and walked out I saw Josh signing for the menu’s so I went to go see them and if they are what I had asked for. They were perfect. This restaurant was probably my hippest and funkiest place such that it shouldn’t even count as a restaurant because it was meant for students. It had Wi-Fi a pool table a chill spot to play video games and a mini basketball stall. This was where I wanted students to come and relax when they were bored or finished writing.
